“It seems inevitable to anyone with eyes,” a friend of the couple tells the New York Post. “They hadn’t spoken as often as you’d think once she made the final 12. She kind of played a disappearing act.”
Pia and Carlos, a 28-year-old caterer from Ozone Park, met about four years through mutual friends. Since they started dating, Pia maintained a shy attitude about their relationship, never wanting any PDA while out with friends.
Over the years they broke up a few times, but always ended up back together.
The night Pia was kicked off Idol, Carlos sported at “Team Pia” T-shirt as he comforted her family who were watching at the Roma View catering where he works.
But the next day, Pia was reportedly spotted kissing her rumored new beau Mark!
The breakup seems like it has been coming since Pia left for American Idol. When Carlos traveled to the West Coast to support her during her first televised performance, she spent a few hours with him, says the couple’s pal.
And when Pia flew to NYC last week, she quickly returned back to Los Angeles as soon as she could.
So much for Carlos, who once told the friend that he was confident he’d be with Pia forever: “We’ve been together for a long time. We have a strong foundation. If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.”
Carlos wouldn’t talk about Pia when asked for comment by the Post.
