Despite surviving a near-fatal brain hemorrhage last year, Bret’s recorded a brand new album!
Mark your calendars — Bret Michaels‘ new record is right around the corner! HollywoodLife.com can exclusively confirm the rocker’s Get Your Rock On solo album will be available June 14 — just one week after he kicks off his summer tour with Motley Crue on June 7 in Dallas!
“Bret has been working on the album like crazy,” our source says. “It will have a country influence and he’s worked with some pretty cool people on it.”
Bret has called his sixth solo album “harder” than his past albums and said his influences were Garth Brooks, John Mellencamp, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Aerosmith.
“This one is primarily straight-up rock songs, which I think people will like,” Bret has said. “I’ve written a lot of good stuff over the last few years that I think are just good rock songs. I feel really strong about it.”
Bret had one of the most traumatic yet important years of his life last year. The Poison frontman was hospitalized on April 22 for a brain hemorrhage, and despite remaining in ICU in critical condition, he went on to win Celebrity Apprentice just one month later. Bret reached a high point after becoming engaged to his girlfriend of 14 years Kristi Gibson on his VH1 reality show Life As I Know It, and he is in the middle of working on three tours!
“Bret is on tour now doing his solo tour, he then goes on tour with Poison in May and then he tours with Motley Crue,” our source says. “He’s the busiest man in showbiz I swear.”
And for all you Poison fans out there: Poison Double Dose: Ultimate Hits — which has all their hits from the past 25 years — hit stores May 3!
