An insider tells HollywoodLife.com which two guys played matchmakers on Pia Toscano and Mark Ballas’s first date — and it’s definitely not who you’d expect!
Pia Toscano and Mark Ballas‘s first date April 9 wasn’t a complete act of faith. The recently booted American Idol contestant and Dancing with the Stars pro had some coaxing from mutual friends, James Durbin and Chris Jericho!
“The trailers are on the same lot and James had started a friendship with Chris,” a source tells us. “At first Pia was just joking around that she wanted to meet Mark, but she was secretly serious about the whole thing. James told Chris about Pia liking Mark and then it worked out from there.”
Talk about team work! However, from the sound of it, James and Chris’s hard work paid off for the 22-year-old singer and 24-year-old dancer.
“They didn’t have any PDA the entire date, but Mark obviously paid for the meal,” our source says. “They talked about their love for music. There will definitely be another date…if there hasn’t been one already.”
Adds the insider, “Also, the story about Mark rescheduling his music video shoot for Pia is totally not true.”
