The wedding of the 21st-century is just 23 days away — and the ceremony and reception may be the most expensive in history!
Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s April 29 nuptials will be nothing short of spectacular! Ok! Magazine reports that the wedding will cost a cool $34 million — definitely a wedding fit for a king!
The ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, where some of the more than $800,000 worth of flowers will decorate the chapel. Other arrangements will grace Buckingham Palace, where the reception will be held in 19 staterooms.
The night before the wedding, Kate and her family are expected to stay at the luxurious Goring Hotel in London for three nights. Guests at the wedding reception will be served a fruit cake, chocolate biscuit cake and other fine foods that will cost $150,000! And, there will be Bollinger Champagne flowing the entire night –the Royals are expected to plop down $60,000 for the bubbly.
And what about the bling? Kate, who wears Prince William’s late mother Princess Diana’s ring, will be given an $11,000 wedding band of Welsh gold.
The largest cost by far will be the estimated $32 million to be spent on security — thousands of police officers, military personnel and private bodyguards will protect the guest, and the one million people who are expected to throng the area.
Kate’s parents are helping out with a bit of the cost — Ok! reports that the Middletons will pay for Kate’s $434,000 wedding dress!
