The supermodel hinted that she is definitely trying to have a child with her businessman beau. Are you excited for her mini-diva?

Tyra Banks, who confirmed she is dating 37-year-old businessman John Utendahl, told TV host Piers Morgan that she plans on starting a family. “I definitely want babies,” she gushed, adding that it will happen sooner rather than later. Hmm…

“Are you trying to have a baby,” Piers asked Tyra, 37, on Piers Morgan Tonight April 6. “Yeah, maybe,” the America’s Next Top Model host replied.

And just like a lot of other celebrity moms out there, Tyra said she would definitely have children out of wedlock, saying, “I don’t think it’s necessarily necessary.” Do you think Tyra would be a good mommy?

It isn’t necessarily necessary. It’s true. I think Tyra would be an amazing mom. Any woman should have a choice on whether or not they want to have kids out of wed lock and if they get married. The world is changing by the minute, so nothing is the same anymore, So everyone else should just shut up. I wish her the best of luck and may God be with her.

Children are born everyday out of wed lock and they are loved etc. In a perfect world every woman will get married and have children, but we do not live in a perfect world. Unfortunately not every woman has an opportunity to wed and it’s not by choice so why should she be denied to have a child? Many women would make wonderful mothers and with all the abandoned children of the world and the medical technology. Yes, you need the sperm obviously, but it is not necessary to be married to conceive or be a mother. This does not maker her a poor example. It makes her honest and practical. People say kids need a role model, she is a great role model, but she also has her life to consider. Just as you do. So Respect her decisions!

Relative to Tyra’s statement that marriage is not a necessity to have a baby: I am sure that Tyra like the rest of us knows that the only thing needed for a human female to have a baby is a fertilized egg – fertilized via sex or invetro.

I was and am disappointed that Tyra who is media savvy answered with the implication that she had changed her mind in such a short and flipant way when she knows that so many people and in particular teenaged girls and 20 something young ladies read, watch and listen to her and what she wears and says.

Additionally. children born out of wedlock regardless of the financial, political or social status of parents are still children born out of wedlock. They know it and have to deal with it in numerous and in a number of ways through out their lives too often publicly and privately. People who are single who plan or become pregnant too often do not sufficiently consider the childs life.

Children are perceptive. Children being raised by a single adult usually devulge to potential and actual friends the status of the “missing” adult. They do not normally refer to this person as their “parent” but simply as their mother or father. Children are also very kind. The friends of children whose other parent is deceased or divorced feel empathy for them and so most do everything to avoid their being or feeling uncomfortable.

I personally wish that Ms Tyra knowing that her answer/statement would be all over the news/medias the next days had appeared to be more thoughtful and been more definitive in answering. Not a condemnation but my opinion.

Girl have your baby, be happy, and live life to the fullest. These people act like they are from outer space somewhere! We know that children should be raised with two parents, but realisticly it does not always happen that way.

Why would you NOT want to marry the man whose child you will bear? If you are committed to someone that much and love them and want to have a family with them, then marriage should not be an issue. She’s either A – worried about her money and/or B – trying to be a “modern woman” and independent as if marriage is wrong. Children are a big responsibility and need the security of both parents being there for them, not just setting yourself up for the easy way out when things go wrong. She is being selfish.

I totally agree with this intelligent comment. I am so sick and tired of celebrities and common folks setting the tone for this nation with the abundance of “out of wedlock” kids. There was a time not so long ago when it was the norm to get married then plan a family, but not anymore. I guess it takes too much time for couples to build a solid loving relationship first and then add children to a stable environment. Even if she was married, no man or relationship is promised forever. Women play both parents all day long! It’s no biggy for her to want to be a single parent. I think she will be a great mommy. I also think its great that more women don’t need a man to complete their lives now. I’m just saying.

Just because you marry the person you bear children with does not mean that you will live happily ever after. Marriage does not always seal the deal, sometimes it makes the situation worse!

Tyra is a good role model, and I believe she will be a great mom. It’s better to plan getting pregnant, than to be a teen mom relying on celebrity status to get by.

I love Tyra; she has proven over the years to be a woman that is smart and is able to make sound decisions.
I have been married. I was married for three years. I have a little girl. I divorced my husband two months ago. Children are supposed to be with both parents. I see from up close how devastated my daughter gets when her father had to leave to go home. She is very close to her dad.

I think Tyra is one of the most lovely woman that I know. From my experience I believe that children must have two parents.

Just because they are not married, it does not mean that the child would not have two parents. Plus, they aren’t married, and you as you pointed out, you were….and your child still ends up with parents who don’t live together. So either way, no situation is guaranteed.

This woman is a terrible example for today’s youth, and should not be allowed to breed.

She is so shallow, and has nothing to contribute.

The only good thing I can say about her is that she doesn’t beat the help, (like some other “super models”).

I agree with you in some ways. She Just doesnt seem to have it in her for a baby, SHes a lil childish and she cant handle it to much but hopefully she grows up a lil more before bringing a baby into this world without a more mature mother.
