The government could shut down if Republicans don’t get the cuts they want — these Hollywood stars are leading the A-list opposition!

Planned Parenthood needs your help — and Scarlett Johansson and Gwyneth Paltrow want your voice to be heard as the nasty budget battle rages in Washington!

A bitter dispute over whether to eliminate Title X — a program enacted in 1970 that provides services like mammograms, HIV testing, birth control at agencies like Planned Parenthood — could shut down the U.S. government at midnight. If Title X gets eliminated then funding for these services will no longer be provided by the federal government.

“A cancer that goes undetected, a sexually transmitted disease left untreated, a woman unable to get the birth control she needs to plan her family and take control of her own destiny,” Scarlett says. “This is the disastrous vision of some leaders in the United States Health of Representatives.”

Republican lawmakers say they will block the overall budget if funding to Planned Parenthood isn’t slashed as part of $30 billion in total spending cuts.

There are more than 800 Planned Parenthood centers across the country. Rachel Bilson, Julianne Moore, and Gabrielle Union are some of the other celebrities who have become enraged over the proposed cuts to Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood would not shut down they just wouldn’t get our tax dollars which as a federal susbsidy is against the law to use for abortions and PP does do abortions plus they receive a LOT of income from other sources that are fine with funding abortions but abortions count for the majority of their business. Also PP DOES NOT provide Mammograms – call them up and check if you don’t believe it – they DO perform breast exams period!

are you serious? of course it goes to abortion, they just use secret funnels and false reports to hide it, you’re a fool. If you need free birth control, visit your local health dept, they give free BC and std, cancer(paps) screening, but not abortions, because that is NOT healthcare!

You know what, Sarah? Women make mistakes and men make mistakes, we all make mistakes. Why should one unwanted pregnancy ruin the rest of your life? Why should someone have to endure such a challenge of raising a child if there were an option not to? Obviously if the baby isn’t born yet why should it be an issue, because it’s in embryo? That is basically all I’m hearing. People like you think it’s bad because it is not apart of our natural system. We as humans are again manipulating mother nature in order to serve ourself. But this isn’t the first time that has been done. It’s been done in many ways for many years all over the country long before airplanes flew the skies. If it were me, and I wasn’t ready I would abort. Planned Parenthood doesn’t just cover abortions. They cover many other health care needs dedicated to serving women. This system is setup for low income women. You take away this, you take away their healthcare. But again, when has anyone ever cared about the poor, let alone the “poor” female.
