Kate is being sued for allegedly not paying her share of her couples-counseling sessions with Jon Gosselin. Are you shocked?

Kate Gosselin has been served! HollywoodLife.com spoke to Dr. Sylvia Lafair, author of the self-help book Don’t Bring It To Work, who reveals why she slapped Kate with a small-claims suit. 

“I did this because I believe people need to be held accountable,” Dr. Lafair tells us. “We all need to be held accountable for agreements that we make and that’s why this was filed … it’s for services rendered that were never handled. Jon is handling his part.” Dr. Lafair wouldn’t comment on any of the specifics.

Dr. Lafair, who owns The Country Place Retreat in White Haven, Pa. and went on to be Jon’s leadership coach. She has worked in in marriage and family therapy for 40 years.

Before flying to counsel Jon and Kate in LA, Dr. Lafair was working with Kate and the mom-of-eight. Kate requested Dr. Lafair fly to the West Coast because her busy schedule wouldn’t permit her to do the session at her Reading, Pa., home.

Dr. Lafair confirms she traveled to LA, did the counseling with the couple but was never paid for the work or her travel costs, although it was part of their agreement.

As we told you earlier, the complaint has been filed by Creative Energy Options, a Pennsylvania-based mediation group in the amount of $10,476.
