Conservative firebrand Glenn Beck is finished as a daily presence on Fox News — victim of sinking ratings, a boycott by advertisers and weariness on the part of his bosses!
Glenn Beck is done with his Fox afternoon show, and the news channel’s top man doesn’t sound too upset that the loose-cannon yakker will be gone later this year.
“Half of the headlines say he’s been canceled,” Fox News chief Roger Ailes tells the Associated Press. “The other half say he quit. We’re pretty happy with both of them.”
Even right-wingers had to admit that Glenn has become more and more erratic during his Fox run — and that scared off big advertisers. More than 400 told Fox they’d didn’t want to be associated with his show!
In the AP interview, Ailes seems to say Glenn’s act ran its course: ”That story of what’s going on and why America is in trouble today, I think he told that story as well as could be told. Whether you can just keep telling that story or not … we’re not so sure.”
But Ailes dismisses the advertiser boycott and says, even in decline, Glenn’s ratings weren’t the issue: “Call CNN and MSNBC and ask them if they’d like to have Glenn’s ratings at 5 in the afternoon.”
Nothing has been set, but Fox says it plans to work with Glenn in the future — but not every day!

All of those whom Glenn Beck has been talking about for the past several years feel threatened and exposed. Who does that include? Maybe instead of listing all of those, it would be much simpler to list those we’re not talking about which are very very few. They’ve done everything they can think of to get him off the air short of killing him – which might be a little obvious. We know our President scheduled (almost)every newscast during Glenn Beck’s hour and interrupted as many of his programs as he possibly could. What does that say in itself? Wake up America! There’s only one bright spot in all of this….Glenn Beck got out alive but we should still pray for his safety.
