Keke Palmer, 17, arrived at the 2011 Kids’ Choice Awards in LA wearing a midnight purple wingtip and a nude lip. We spoke with her makeup artist Autumn Moultrie on this fabulous look!

When choosing foundation, look at the undertones of the skin to determine whether they are red, yellow or olive, “Keke has a LOT of golden yellow in her skin so her foundation, powder has to pull that out, not cover it up.”

Match your beauty look with your outfit: “Her dress was over-the -top sexy so I opted to not do a smoky eye. A wingtip is sophisticated without being too sultry.”

Blush for any woman should look like it’s coming from within. A way to know which color to choose is to look at the inside of your mouth! Of you pull your lower lip down to see what color your gums are, that’s the color blush you should use! It’s foolproof and automatic! Works every time!

I bronzed her cheeks then applied some shimmer to the apples of her cheeks.

A beigy-pink lipstick kept the eyes the focal point!

Expert Tip: Mix up your foundation. “The color that I use on her forehead is not the same shade as the one I use under her eye. If I were to use one color only, she would look flat and one-dimensional.” Using one color makes you look like you’re wearing a mask!
