Ashley’s big plan: find the man she loves on ‘The Bachelorette’ — and then bring him to Maine for the summer where she plans to teach dance camp in July!
ABC’s new Bachelorette Ashley Hebert has big plans this summer when she’s done filming the show. She’s already committed to teaching dance camp at The Maine Dance Academy in Caribou, Maine, in July, the academy’s owner Colleen Duplessie tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively!
“Ashley’s a camp favorite,” says Colleen, who previously taught at the school from 2002 to 2005, and again in 2009. “If I say she’s teaching, everyone signs up!”
Ashley will be teaching hip hop and contemporary classes. “Her specialty is contemporary lyrical,” Colleen tells us. “She’s a very talented, emotional dancer. The only thing she can’t do is tap.”
The camp will be one week long, and will take place the third or fourth week of July depending on Ashley’s schedule. (Colleen is still waiting on Ashley’s availability.) It’s a day-long schedule. “Parents drop the kids off at 9ish and pick them up at five-ish,” Colleen says. 100 kids are expected to enroll.
So why would a student want to learn from Ashley, especially when Colleen says that “it’s hard for the kids to keep up with her?” Ashley knows how to motivate!
“To be a teacher you have to love dancing and kids,” explains Colleen, who has owned her business for 17 years. “Ashley’s excitable — has a lot of energy. She makes it fun. You can hear her down the hallway when she’s teaching.”
Plus, “she’s an amazing choreographer with good ideas,” adds Colleen. “And she can bring it down to the kids.”
