I’m still sloooowly easing my way into pregnancy wear! Read on to find out more about my chic maternity picks!

I was fortunate enough not to have been plagued by morning sickness, but on the flip side, I gained weight pretty early on in my pregnancy. And even though I was no longer a virgin to maternity clothes, I was still initially in denial. I placed blame on the dryer and the dry cleaners. (Eek!) But, I began to further edit my closet and put away my “shrunken” items and continue on my search for my new wardrobe.

For jeans, I headed to H&M Mama, though Gap Maternity is another good choice. I chose H&M Mama because they had more of a style, wash, and color choice—plus the price point was nearly half that of Gap Maternity jeans!

Though a little apprehensive at first, Old Navy Maternity had great 100% cotton T-shirts, tank tops and camisoles, perfect for layering under sweaters or just to wear on their own during the spring. With the fantastic prices, I bought two of every style in white, gray, and black.

Asos Maternity online is another great resource for trendy pieces (and free shipping!) and I purchased a handful of flirty frocks and fun dresses at wallet friendly prices. I thought the line Isabella Oliver Maternity (found online) has a great selection of incredibly stylish and fashionable pieces. Though a bit more pricey, their styles are perfect for more special occasions.

And of course, I had to make my usual trip to Bergdorf Goodman, my favorite NYC department store, for some flowy tops, long cardigans, and sweater dresses. These items from Bergdorfs would remain in my closet long after the baby was born and added some flair and style to my already purchased staples.

Though many techniques have been used on clothing as a woman transitions from their regular wardrobe to maternity clothes, despite all that resistance, I was happy, content, and finally comfortable in my new pair of maternity jeans!
