HollywoodLife.com busts new DWTS myths! A Dancing with the Stars insider says Chris Brown filmed his performances ahead of time, and didn’t interact with the dancers or the hosts.
Chris Brown earned himself a standing ovation on Dancing with the Stars last night after his two killer performances. But although we saw Chris’s critic Tom Bergeron give the singer a standing ovation along with the rest of the audience and the judges, a source tells us Chris was never in the same room as Tom.
“Chris Brown’s performances were filmed before the live show started, as is usually done with big performances. Tom and Brooke [the hosts] were not in the same room as Chris during his performance. Clever editing was used to make it look like they were there with him. The judges were only there for the first performance [Yeah 3x] that was taped,” explains a Dancing with the Stars insider. But this doesn’t mean the judges and the hosts weren’t really clapping for Chris. They showed the performances to the audience, hosts and judges again on video and they all reacted by standing and clapping when they saw it.
And how did the taping of his performances go? “His ‘Yeah 3x‘ performance wasn’t an issue but multiple takes were done for his “Forever/Beautiful” performance as some of the lighted suits were not working properly. It had a few hiccups but Chris took it in stride and was joking about it. The people in the audience were very pro- Chris Brown and loved it, no matter how long it took,” says our source.
But what about the rumors that Chris was purposefully snubbed by Cheryl Burke (who publicly denounced his involvement) and the other dancers who disapproved of ABC inviting him to perform despite his GMA window-smashing incident? “Chris never really saw anyone on his way in or out of taping. After his performances, he left. If he passed anyone, it was pleasantries only, it was not obvious that anyone was purposely snubbing anyone. Everyone that briefly interacted with Chris took the high road, but most of the dancers and stars were too busy in their trailers doing last minute practicing or hanging out with others to bug Chris Brown, and vice versa.”
Sounds like everything went smoothly and it was just another normal day of filming at DWTS. However the good news for ABC and Chris is that the ratings were up 40% over last year’s premiere results show. Plus F.A.M.E. is the number one album in the country this week and total album sales were 271,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
But what do you guys think of the news Chris wasn’t actually in the room with Tom or snubbed by Cheryl? Sound off below!

very dissapointed that DWTS allowed Chris Brown to perform. He tainted the show for me. Tom Bergeron may have been able to keep his composure but I could see thru his displeasure and I don’t blame him. He’s a low life with a bit of talent, big deal. Treat him like he deserves to be treated, by ignoring him. I’m not going to not watch DWTS but I’m real dissapointed with the decision. I turned teh channel until he was gone. He’s a wife beater. He has anger issues that he is obviously “not” able to control. DWTS owes apologies to it’s viewers, Tom, Cheryl, Rhianna and to anyone else who was insulted by his appearance. He’s a cancer and does not deserve his success until he has proven that he has remorse for his actions. Since teh Rhianna beatings, His tantrum on Good Morning America says it all.
He needs to grow up and get serious help..
