Rosie O’Donnell will take over Oprah’s Chicago studio, and her program will air on the OWN Network
After 25-years of daytime television domination, Oprah Winfrey is passing the torch to Rosie O’Donnell. Oprah’s last episode will shoot on May 25, and then Rosie will move into the Chicago-based Harpo Studio and shoot her new, hour-long talk show.
“I’m delighted to welcome Rosie to the studio I’ve called home for so many years,” announced Oprah who will also be airing Rosie’s show on her new cable network.
Rosie has had a long career in the spotlight as a comedian, actress, activist, and television personality, and is glad to be taking back the reigns of talkshow television. Harpo Studios has worked with daytime heavy-hitters like Oprah, Dr. Phil, and Rachel Ray.
“Harpo is a world class studio and I can’t wait to do my show from Chicago,” Rosie said in a statement. “It’s a dream come true.”
Rosie O’Donnell has gotten herself into a lot of feuds with her controversial opinions, so it will be interesting to see how well she can follow in Oprah’s footseteps. After 25-years of success and millions of loyal fans, Rosie has some pretty big shoes to fill. Tell us what you think! Will you watch Rosie’s new talk show?

Yes I will watch Rosie, I watched her when she had her own show before, even watched on “The View”. I must say I didn’t like her on that show, she was too political. I hope she has learned her lesson. She and Oprah have had discussions about this, so suggest she does what the boss says, or shae, again, will be gone.
