Jess is considering eloping with fiance Eric Johnson. Should she give up on a big wedding just because she’s had one before?
Jessica Simpson’s been there, done that and has the big, white wedding dress to prove that she’s been married before. But now that she’s set to wed again, does she have have to forego the Barbie dream wedding in favor of a quick and easy elopement?
The blond bombshell isn’t stressing about her impending nuptials to former NFL player Eric Johnson, which may be one reason why this relationship is different from the highly publicized, high-pressure love she had with former hubby Nick Lachey. Because of the nature of their low-key romance, this glamour girl is actually considering the dine n’ dash of marriages.
“We’ve both been married before. We’re enjoying our commitment to each other. We want to take our time,” the 30-year-old billionaire Women’s Wear Daily, adding, “We might elope if it gets to that point.”
Well color me with OMG, because Jessica Simpson has started to get sensible! Her decision to be decision-less is actually quite smart. She isn’t putting any additional pressure on their relationship. Essentially, she’s learned from her mistakes.
Weddings are a crazy, high-drama business. It’s all about the dress, the catering, the guest list. I find that most brides tend to lose sight of the main goal — marrying the loves of their lives — when they plan a wedding, which becomes the social event of the season. Keeping it simple and going with the flow is painless, especially if you’ve already had all the bells, whistles and wedding day trappings before.
Will you need to have a big, crazy wedding day? That’s up to you. But if you’ve done it before (and even if you haven’t) I’m fully supporting Jess’ way of thinking: less is always more.
