Elle was married to photographer Gilles Bensimon until 1989, but dated and was engaged to French financer Arpad Busson until 2005. She has two sons with Arpad, Arpad “Flynn” Alexander, 13, and Aurelius “Cy” Andrea, 8.

She is also a prominent businesswoman, acting as the executive producer for Britain’s Next Top Model and running a line of lingerie called Elle Macpherson Intimates.
