'Bethenny Ever After' Recap: Bethenny Skates Her Way Thru An 'Early Mid-Life Crisis'!

On last night’s episode of Bethenny Ever After, the Skinny Girl plans her 40th birthday bash and straps on some ice skates.

Just when you thought Bethenny Frankel couldn’t get any busier, she decides turning 40 equals taking risks. And there’s nothing riskier than signing up for the ice-rink version of Dancing with the Stars. Right?

As she prepares to hit the big 4-0, Bethenny decides that getting married and having a baby in the span of a few months just isn’t enough for her. So she decides to do Skating with the Stars — an experience she calls her “early mid-life crisis.” I guess everyone has one!

But of course, Bethenny’s approach to 40 isn’t all fun and games. Her birthdays usually remind her of her messed up childhood, particularly her parents. “I wouldn’t want to know these people if I met them at a dinner party,” she tells her therapist Dr. Amador of her estranged father, crazy mother and stepdad, who pretty much destroyed her youth.

But, Bethenny realizes that her life is different now and that she has so many people who care about her and are excited to celebrate her accomplishments. She gets teary-eyed when thinking about her “new family” and the bond she has with husband Jason Hoppy and their 10-month-old daughter, Bryn.

So, she straps on her ice skates, hits the rink and plans an awesome birthday party, which will air next Monday, April 4. Will she have a nervous breakdown or will she bask in birthday bliss?
