The 15-year-old girl left her baby boy in a London hotel room as she returned home to Toronto.
Devastating news. A full-term baby boy was found dead by a shocked hotel worker after a group of Canadian students, staying in the hotel, returned home to Toronto after a school trip to London. Police tracked down the mother, a 15-year-old student, who was treated at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ontario and is being questioned.
Police are still investigating into how the baby died after the results of a post-mortem examination, carried out at Great Ormond Street Hospital in Central London, were said to be “inconclusive.”
“Police were called at 12.45pm on Saturday March 19 to a hotel in Lampton Road, Hounslow, and discovered a baby’s body. The child was pronounced dead at the scene,” a Scotland Yard spokeman explains. “The investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Child Abuse Investigation Command in liaison with the Canadian authorities. The identification of the mother is known, but no arrests have been made.”
This is a heartbreaking story. We pray for everyone involved.
