After a two year struggle to conceive, Rod says he and wife Penny Lancaster’s new “miracle” baby Aiden is their last child…maybe.
After 47 years filled with new babies, Rod Stewart admits that he’s done. At the age of 66, Rod has eight children with five different women, two with his current wife Penny Lancaster, 40, who just gave birth to son Aiden last month. “I can’t have any more kids,” he says, “otherwise I’ll be touring until I’m 90.” Good news?
Penny underwent three rounds of IVF over a course of two years before conceiving Aiden, who Rod calls their “miracle.” “Aiden truly is a miracle,” Rod tells Hello! Magazine. “In the beginning we took it for granted that our second child would be as easy to conceive as Alastair [his 5-year-old son with Penny] was, but the long journey was more than worth it.”
Rod even sings to Aiden when he’s crying — you must admit, you’re a bit jealous.
And although Rod says he is done having kids, if Penny wants another, he might just cave in. He explains he would do “pretty much anything,” to make Miss Lancaster happy. For Rod’s sake, let’s hope it’s not baby number nine.
