Jenelle has cleared up her problems with Kieffer, but she still has criminal charges to battle in court in April!
Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans has had two lucky breaks in court the past seven days! The first one came on March 15 when Jenelle faced her ex-boyfriend Kieffer Delp on the charges she refiled against him accusing him of assaulting her. Jenelle’s attorney Dustin Sullivan tells HollyBaby.com that the charges against Kieffer have since been dismissed — as Kieffer and Jenlle came to an agreement and in turn he dropped his charge accusing her of damaging his personal property.
“Those cases were dismissed last week because Kieffer agreed to dismiss the charges against Jenelle,” says her attorney. “They both consented to the dismissal.”
The original assault case against Kieffer was dropped because Jenelle — the victim — failed to appear in court after being subpoenaed. By not showing up on Feb. 4, she could have been held in contempt of the court. But she doesn’t face that danger anymore because she showed up on March 23.
“She could have been facing 30 active days of jail time for not showing up as the victim,” Dustin explains.
“Today, the show-cause case against Jenelle was closed because she was found not to be in contempt of the court,” confirms Dustin. “She had to take the stand and testified — taking questions from myself, the DA and judge.”
But Jenelle’s legal woes are not over. She will still be in court on April 14 facing criminal charges of drug possession and trespassing. She will also be in court again on April 29 for breaking and entering charges.
