The singer may not have been happy to talk about Rihanna — but his outburst after ‘Good Morning America’ made his new album the most-downloaded of the day on iTunes!
Chris’s new Jive Records album dropped the same day he sat down with Robin Roberts for the interview that set him off. His GMA appearance also included a great performance of “Yeah 3x,” a track from F.A.M.E.
Chris got so steamed after Robin asked him about his 2009 assault on his then-girlfriend Rihanna he reportedly trashed a room backstage and smashed a window of the ABC building in Times Sqaure. He was happier later in the day and into the night at his Webster Hall listening party in NYC.
Not all of the critics have not been as happy as the fans with F.A.M.E. Take this from Margaret Wappler on latimes.com: “‘Beautiful People,’ with its powdered-sugar synths and dance floor positivity, is almost a Kylie Minogue song. With a few shifts in production values, ‘All Back’ could have easily found itself in the coffers of Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood. All of it is done capably, even superbly in some cases, though F.A.M.E. also feels strained and sometimes downright desperate.”
But others, like Jody Rose of Rolling Stone, wrote: “F.A.M.E. boasts blockbuster hits and shows Brown has a good nose for production” in a three-star review. Brad Wete also had something good to say on EW.com: “Brown has not yet mastered the art of image rehabilitation. Musically, though, he’s in top form. F.A.M.E. shines brighter than anything he produced before that now-infamous incident.”
Now what do you say, Chris? One of the reasons you were so angry after GMA is your desire to put the Rihanna incident behind you. But even when it comes to discussing your music, that ugly day is always looming!
