Miley’s dad is definitely backtracking since his emotional ‘GQ’ interview and says he was ‘surrounded by darkness’ before.
Billy Ray Cyrus was either so ridiculed by his family or he’s had a major epiphany. Billy went on GMA on March 23 to discuss the interview he did two weeks before Christmas with GQ, in which he blames Disney for his family’s problems. Clearly, now he’s singing a different tune.
We’ve heard it before. Billy went on The View to say he “loves Disney” and that the studio isn’t responsible for Miley Cyrus‘ recent wild behavior, or his family falling a part. Billy reiterated all of that and more to GMA host Robin Roberts this morning and gushed about Disney — calling the company “part of his family.”
Billy says his sole focus is putting his family back together. But he did go on to reveal that even though many people won’t agree — he still wants to be Miley’s friend! Will he ever learn?
“I look back and I did kind of approach being a dad like being a friend, my kids need a dad and I can promise I’ll come back in and do the best I can do,” Billy says. “I still want to be Miley’s friend. I want to be the person she wants to talk to. I love her more than life itself.”
Despite learning of Miley’s now-infamous salvia-bong incident online, Billy says he does trust Miley.
“I think most importantly Miley has a great heart and she is very intelligent she will make good choices … I trust Miley.”
Even though it was very positive, do you think Billy should stop doing these interviews?
