The viral video phenom sits down with ‘Good Morning America’ for a tough interview on her hit single ‘Friday,’ and proves she may just be the next big thing!
Rebecca Black may have become a national laughing stock with the release of her auto-tuned hit “Friday,” but her March 18 appearance on Good Morning America proved this is one teen who is ready to fire back at her haters! Rebecca sat down with Andrea Canning and responded to critiques of her song, which brought her to tears, including comments such as: “I hope you cut yourself and I hope you get an eating disorder.” The singer coolly and calmly answered tough questions from Andrea, proving she may just become a huge star!
The 13-year-old singer simply said of her haters, “It doesn’t bother me.” Her mother however felt a little more angry than her calm and composed daughter, saying of her daughter’s hateful critics: “In all honesty, I probably could have killed a few people.”
Rebecca, who looks like a blend of Demi Lovato and Lea Michele and hails from Orang County, Calif., also revealed her dream duet partner — Justin Bieber! “I have Bieber Fever,” she said in the interview. “I am love with Justin Bieber, that would be, oh my god, just thinking of it gives me butterflies.” Watch your back Selena Gomez!
Rebecca’s mother paid $2,000 to have her daughter record two songs with Ark Music Factory, one being “Friday,” after Rebecca managed to pass an audition for up and coming talent. Her second song, which has yet to be released, is more adult themed than the wholesome “Friday.”
In the end it is Rebecca who is having the last laugh however, with over 16 million having watched her video online! What’s more, her single is now beating out her fan favorite Justin on iTunes!
