This woman has been charged with the murder of her baby daughter, after swallowing rat poison just days before she gave birth.
Pregnant Bei Bei Shua, 34, took a lethal dose of poison on December 23 last year to try and kill herself after her boyfriend ditched her. She survived—her baby didn’t.
She was discovered by a friend and rushed to Indianapolis’ Methodist Hospital, where she recovered and gave birth to baby daughter, Angel, eight days later.
Doctors battled to save the tiny newborn, but she died three days later from bleeding in the brain.
Cops raided Bei Bei’s home and found packets and pellets of rat poison and the 34-year-old is now facing a length prison sentence, if convicted of her daughter’s murder.
What a devastating story.
Should prosecutors push for a long prison sentence, or is the trauma of watching her baby die punishment enough?
