It’s official! Jennifer Lawrence has reportedly beat out Hailee Steinfeld and Abigail Breslin for the next Twilight of film series!

Get ready to see a whole lot more of Jennifer Lawrence. The 20-year-old Academy Award-nominated actress has reportedly landed the leading role in the film adaptation of the The Hunger Games trilogy, which is slated to become just as big (if not bigger) than Twilight!

Jennifer will be playing the role of Katniss, a teenage girl who is competing in a futuristic survival of the fittest contest to save her town. According to the report, she signed contracts March 16 committing to all three films, The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay. We cannot wait to find out who will play opposite her!

Currently, Hunter Parrish, Alex Pettyfer and Josh Hutcherson are rumored to be up for the male lead. Our pick? Definitely Weeds hottie, Hunter, who would look perfect next to Jennifer…

Are you happy Jennifer landed the role of Katniss, or were you hoping to see another one of your favorite actresses in the part? Have you read The Hunger Games yet? Sound off below!
