I don’t know what America’s smoking, but Karen Rodriguez is WAY better than Naima Adedapo!
Boy, am I naive. I was actually beginning to think I’d go through season 10 of American Idol without any heart break. We’d gotten through the Top 12 so well, I thought my picks were on fire — but unfortunately, I was mistaken.
It is with a sad, sad heart I report Karen Rodriguez got the boot from the competition March 17. Haley Reinhart and Naima Adedapo were the other two in the bottom three. It’s no secret who I wanted to see go home tonight. Naima, 26, has consistently underwhelmed the judges the last two weeks and doesn’t have the singing chops compared to her competition.
Karen, on the other hand, hasn’t had the best couple of weeks, but her creative rendition of Mariah Carey‘s’ “Hero” will always stick with me as a standout performance. I don’t think I’m the only one who feels this way about Miss Rodriguez — Randy admitted it wasn’t a unanimous vote between the judges to not use the save, which means Jennifer Lopez wanted to keep her around for a bit too.
As I write this, I’m already starting to simmer down. After all, my favorites — Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina — are still holding strong.
Did tonight’s results show shock you as much as it did me or were you glad to see Karen get the boot? Who do you think is going to be the final three? Let’s start placing some bets!
P.S. I’m re-listening to the single recordings now. How much fun would it be to go karaoke singing with Lauren? She knows all the best country songs and would bring a dive bar house down!

Howcome it’s ok for a latino to sing in English on a Spanish singing competition without latinos complaining, and I have seen this a lot on spanish tv..they don’t care. Maybe latinos should start applying the same rule and not allow anybody to sing in English on their spanish competitions.
