Courteney says that no matter what happens with their divorce, Coco will be safe, loved and protected.

It’s hard going through a divorce, especially when you have a child to worry about. Courteney Cox and David Arquette have been trying to stay strong for their 6-year-old daughter, Coco, who Courteney says is doing OK. “She’s adjusting,” the Cougar Town star, 46, tells Harper’s Bazaar. Did your kids go through a similar ordeal?

“Luckily, we’ve always had two houses, so there was no change in her living unit,” Courteney adds. “And we both work a lot, so that wasn’t a huge adjustment.”

Courteney and David, 39, separated in October after 11 years of marriage. But she admits she still has strong feelings for him.

“Most guys aren’t mature, are they?” Courteney explains of her ex. “… If you know who David is, you know what his intentions are, how honest he is, and how big his heart is … You can’t really get mad at David because he’s not a malicious person.”

But for now, Courteney and David are more worried about their daughter than themselves.

“She’s our number-one priority,” Courteney says. “No matter what happens, she’ll be OK because she knows that she is completely safe, loved, and we’ll protect that more than anything in the world.”
