This tiny baby was miraculously found alive under piles of mud, cement and wood—and reunited with her frantic father!

A four-month-old baby girl in Japan who had been swept from her father’s arms when a deadly tsunami wave hit their house was found alive yesterday in the town of Ishinomaki! For three days her frantic family had been searching for her, believing that she had probably been lost forever. Wow, she looks totally fine! And soooo cute!

The soldiers searching through the rubble of the town heard a baby’s cry coming from a pile of debris. It seemed so unlikely, that at first the soldiers dismissed the crying sound as a mistake. Then it came again, and they started quickly digging. “Her discovery has put a new energy into the search,” said a Japanese official. “We will listen, look and dig with even more diligence after this.”
