Who knew a vampire, Elena’s birth mom Isobel, went to my Toronto high school?
I’m sure the principal and teachers at Jarvis Collegiate Institute, a downtown Toronto public school, would have flipped if they knew they were harboring a future vampire. Mia Kirshner and I made our connection discovery sitting side by side getting out hair touch ups before we both presented Genie Awards on Canadian national TV on Mar. 10 in Ottawa, Ontario.
Kirshner, 36, who starred in The L Word as well as Vampire Diaries, looked phenomenal in a long black Pamella Roland gown with incredible nude-floral strappy Giuseppe Giannotti heels. Turns out Mia went to Jarvis, which she liked because it was “friendly” and had a great diversity of students for three years. But she tried another Toronto high school- Forest Hill Collegiate – known for its theatre program, for a few months but quit it because it was too “clique-y.”
I completely empathized. I’d tried the same school switch for the same reason and quit too for the very same reason! Great talking to a fellow Jarvis alum!
