You thought hot sauce was bad — this woman is literally treating her child like an animal! So terrible.

According to police, Kathlyn Anthony, 54, of Connecticut, was in court on Monday after being charged with risk of injury to a minor. Why? She allegedly put her adopted son in a plastic and metal dog crate at night for around two weeks! All because he was “soiling” the bed.

The boy, whose name and age are not being revealed due to privacy issues, has his sister to thank. In December, she told school officials that she was tired because she had to keep getting up at night to let her brother out of his “sleep locker.” That’s when employee notified the the police, who then began an investigation. Kathlyn was arrested on Sunday, March 6.

“Apparently, the child who was in the crate was having some issues, or the mother was having some issues with the child defecating in the juvenile’s bed or within his bedroom,” Old Saybrook police Sgt. Kevin Roche told Theday.com.

“Sought out some other remedies, different agencies and different ways of correcting the issue – and it didn’t work,” he adds, “‘So she started using the dog crate as a way of – and I don’t want to say punishment – but that’s where he slept at night.” Sounds like punishment to us! That is just terrible.

Kathlyn was reportedly looking for outside help to address her son’s behavioral issues, but we think she might have some problems herself. There’s no excuse for what she did.
