Mariah and Nick were the guests of honor at a lavish pink-and-blue themed baby shower this weekend to celebrate the upcoming arrival of their twins!

The countdown is on! Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon‘s little boy and girl are due to arrive sometime this month and the expectant parents threw a pink and blue soiree on Sunday night (March 6) to celebrate. The adult-only party took place at The Conservatory Grill at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills and included guests such as American Idol judge Randy Jackson.

“Mariah has been anxiously awaiting her shower, and she was very excited when she arrived at the hotel,” a source tells People of the mommy-to-be, 41, who arrived with Nick, 30, at 7 p.m. in a black Rolls-Royce. “She couldn’t wait to celebrate her baby twins with her friends.”

The party had a warm and romantic vibe and featured small cocktail tables that were decorated with pink roses and blue hydrangeas. There were also pink and blue balloons scattered throughout the room! Guests nibbled on gourmet hors d’oeuvres and sipped Angel champagne.

The couple recieved dozens of pink and blue wrapped gifts, including two life size giraffes and custom-made chairs for their little girl and boy! But her favorite gift was something that was sent to her from all her fans around the world.

“The Always Be My Babies‘Lamb Book’ is definitely my new prized possession and I can’t thank the Lambs around the world enough for your letters & well wishes,” Mariah, who calls her fans “lambs,” writes on her Web site. “We so had a ‘moment’ in the middle of the shower when they presented the book to me and everyone thought it was the cutest, most thoughtful thing ever!” Mariah recalls. “Clearly, only the Lambs would swing something like that home!!! It was the best moment of the night. I can’t wait for the twins to read the messages and feel the love!!! : )”

“Thank you SO much to all who came to the baby shower last night and all who couldn’t be there but sent such beautiful presents and sweet messages!” she wrote. “Still haven’t really opened all the gifts but seeing so many people who came from all over the world to be there with us was the BEST gift we could ask for!”

We can’t wait to hear about the birth of the babies! Do you think Mariah and Nick will sell the first photos of the twins?

so the hell what It’s the Rolls Royce Nick gave her as a christmas gift what’s the big deal. when the twins are older They’ll probably downgrade to a toyota preius or something like that. which wouldn’t exactly be a surprise there’s already some legendary stars that have driven a preius since before it was mainstream to do so. 4 time academy award nominee & 3 time golden globe winner Joanne Woodward for example has driven a preius for 17 years granted she doesn’t own property in Cali anymore hasn’t since her daughters were in high shchool in the 70’s & 80’s. correct her daughter Nell graduated in 1976 middle daughter Lissy graduated in 1979 and youngest daughter Clea graduated in 1983 about the same time she had the mishap in the junior horsejumping championships when she fell of the horses back.
