But first, Lily could soon be trading in her Chanel dresses for orange jump suits!
Philosophical question: Will all the Upper East Side drama finally come to an end now that Lily (Kelly Rutherford) will inevitably end up behind bars? I doubt it, but at least everyone who was in on Lily’s little secret can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
She turned herself in to the DA on the Feb. 28 episode, years after signing the affidavit that sent Ben to jail for allegedly having sex with Serena (Blake Lively) when he was her teacher at boarding school. And while she basically ruined Ben’s life, she did not ruin his future with her daughter! After last week’s episode when we saw Damien pay a visit to Mr. Thorpe, I smelled trouble was in the air — and since Lily’s wrongdoings had gone on for far too long, it was only a matter of time before it all caught up to her!
And here are the rest of my ‘OMG’ moments from this week’s Gossip Girl:
1. Blair and Dan KISS
Ah, I thought this day would never come! After Dorota suspected Blair (Leighton Meester) and “Lonely Boy” Dan (Penn Badgley) were sneaking around together, she confronted Blair, who denied anything was going on. Dan and Blair later discussed there was a slight possibility they could be falling for each other, and they decided to stop hiding their friendship. She posted on Gossip Girl that something “big” was going to happen at Chuck’s party, meaning her and Dan would show up together. But after the Lily drama went down, they decided it wasn’t time to let the UES know just yet. Still, Dan couldn’t wait any longer and he showed up at Blair’s house, asking for one kiss to prove that there was no chemistry… And there was definitely chemistry!
2. Raina and Nate kiss, too!
Blair and Dan weren’t the only ones to share their first kiss on this week’s episode: Raina (Tika Sumpter) and Nate (Chace Crawford) also turned up the heat on their relationship. What started as a plan to distract Raina from Chuck has blossomed into a real romance. The two finally kissed and seem to be headed in the direction of Relationship-ville. While it seems like an odd pairing, they both do have a love for sports… and dishonest fathers.
3. We learn Mr. Bass killed Mrs. Thorpe!
We were taken back to the past this week, as Mr. Thorpe revealed the secret behind his wife’s death: She apparently died in the hotel fire that Chuck’s father allegedly had started. Whether it is true or not, we don’t know, but it was enough evidence to cause Chuck to stop his party and rethink taking back Bass Industries. It also led him to drink too many Whiskey drinks and want to talk to Blair!
4. Serena & Ben call it quits!
Before we found out Ben’s mom had stolen the affidavit, Serena blamed it on Ben. He got upset when Serena didn’t believe him and told her he needed to “figure things out.” Even after Lily turned herself in and requested to expunge Ben’s record, we didn’t see him running back into Serena’s arms. Could this finally be the end of their affair?
What did you think? Are you happy Lily turned herself in? Is Chuck going to be upset when he finds out about Blair and Dan? Are Serena and Ben done for good?
Gossip Girl will be on hiatus until April 18, so we have LOTS of time to think about tonight’s episode!
