Are you excited that ‘Glee’ is finally taking a step away from covering other people’s songs by coming out with their own original tracks?

Get ready Gleeks! The moment we have all been waiting for is here. The cast of Glee has come out with two original songs! There first single, “Loser Like Me,” made waves when it premiered on Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show on Feb. 25. And Lea Michele‘s “Get It Right” also leaked on the same day.

But don’t worry if you didn’t catch “Loser Like Me” — you will be able to hear both original tracks on the March 15 episode of Glee.

How did Glee get this new gig? The songs were written especially for the cast by Max Martin, the super producer who helped Britney Spears first reach success in the ’90s.

Max was super-excited to get involved. “We’ve done like 30 of his songs on Glee,'” Adam Anders, Glee‘s music supervisor, tells Entertainment Weekly. “The thing about Max is that he’s a huge fan of pop culture and he just loved the idea of being part of something that’s such a cultural phenomenon. So it was actually not hard to convince him at all. He was all about it.”

Gleeks, are you excited that the show has finally come out with original songs?

I think for the most part the show needs to stick to covers, but they need to go back to covering older music. A original song once in awhile but not to much. Lea sounds great on her solo.
