An insider tells HollywoodLife.com what Rihanna told her team in an effort to get Chris Brown’s restraining order taken down to a level one. Do you agree with her judgement?
In a move loved by some and criticized by many, Rihanna asked the judge to rescind Chris Brown‘s restraining order Feb. 22, allowing him to interact with her as long as he doesn’t harass her in any way. An insider tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively Rihanna’s team wasn’t completely convinced this was the right move for her, but the 23-year-old Barbados native pleaded her ex’s case…and won.
“Don’t get me wrong, Rihanna is still bummed out by what happened,” our insider tells us about Rihanna and Chris’ domestic assault two years ago, “But she thinks it’s dumb for his career to be completely ruined over one bad night.”
Our source says it’s no coincidence the restraining order was taken off just weeks before Chris’ fourth album, F.A.M.E. (an abbreviation of Fans Are My Everything), drops March 18.
“Chris has an album coming out and needs to promote it,” the insider explains.
“As of a few days ago he couldn’t be anywhere where Rihanna was…including award shows, talk shows, concerts…anything. She’s everywhere and it was virtually impossible for him to get his job done. She leveled with her people and said it’s not fair to him that he couldn’t thrive with his music. He made a mistake and deserves another chance.”
Originally, Chris, 21, was placed on probation and was given a five year restraining order. After Rihanna’s lawyer went to the judge Feb. 22, the sentence was replaced with a level one order — allowing Chris to truly return to the music world.
Do you think Rihanna was smart to let Chris off the hook? Do you agree with her decision?
