It’s still simmering — Miley and her team are trying to keep her father Billy Ray silent about their family life. Maybe he reminds Miley a little too much of another celebrity dad who can’t seem to shut up — Michael Lohan!

Miley Cyrus is sick of listening to her father speak to the media about her personal problems and their family issues — and now she’s taking action. The singer reportedly forced Billy Ray to cancel his appearance on The View, originally scheduled for Feb. 23. Is this a sign of the already strained relations between the father and daughter turning even more sour?

“When Miley found out her father was scheduled to appear on ‘The View’ on Wednesday she went nuts,” a source tells PopEater’s Rob Shuter. “Only last week, Billy shot his mouth off in GQ, and now he planned to sit down with [Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg] and talk more crap about his family. No way would Miley or her team let that happen.”

As we previously reported, Miley, 18, was “very upset” over Billy Ray’s comments to GQ that he worries for his daughter’s safety and said she was in “grave danger.”

It’s never good when a parent spills what seem to be family secrets. Ask Lindsay Lohan, another former child star.  Every time he opens his mouth, Michael Lohan only seems to make things worse for his troubled daughter as she fights to straighten out her life in rehab and in court.

And although at first the Hannah Montana star wasn’t angry at her father, now she’s apparently furious that he was going to continue to publicly speak out about his concerns.

“Miley defended her dad, wanting to believe he had been tricked into saying bad things by the magazine,” says Shuter’s source. “But after she found out about his media trip to New York, no more excuses could be made.”

Do you think Billy Ray is out of line for his desire to bring Miley’s problems to the public eye? Or is he just trying to get his daughter’s attention? Do you feel sorry for Miley? Let us know below!

I think that miley Cyrus is hiding something and billy ray too.she is always causing depression and trouble and one day her father will die from all that stress. Once she looses him he will never come back. I mean look at their daughter Noah Cyrus she’s turning to a little rude slut. And this is coming from a thirteen year old.

everyone wants to say poor miley let her have her space she is 18. when billy ray had a little say in what went on she never went on stage looking like she got lost on her way to work at the strip club. i have 2 young step daughters that i always liked watching hannah montana because there was always a “life lesson” of some sort and i wanted them to look up to her. i guess eventually you can’t enjoy the best of both worlds, and she has chosen the world of fame over family. i know i would do whatever it takes to keep my kids from self destruction, and if the private arena no longer works all you can do is go public to the people they have a rep to uphold with. the truth with set u free, if miley is innocent of wrongdoing, there is no reason to be upset. call his bluff miley;if u are the innocent one, prove his accusations wrong. if you can’t prove him wrong maybe you should step back and look at the big pic.

i hate to see their family fall apart, its gunna be a long time or never until their family relationships come back in a happy ending. Billy cyrus is turning crazy, and yet the only way to stop this is more Miley to simply behave… then their wont be anything bad to say about the family then and until maybe billy sees that, he would turn his additude around and try to see what miley has to say or whatever like that, so their relationship may build again.. I really think if miley becomes a better person and chill, things can go better, and family will be better. I never thought this would happen though. i feel bad for them! , im here wondering is this wht u get for being a celebrity?! , like why does every celebrity’s life has to be ruin for having papparrazii , nosy peoples, crazy fans, busy schedules, constant questions surrounding them. Being a celebrity is just another job!

If she’s not ashamed of what she’s doing, why does it matter to her what he says? He’s right, she needs to think about her actions before she acts. But as with most children, they have to live and learn the hard way.

I have never commented on anything on the internet, but this is sad. Parents should be supportive of their children publicly and privately. Any personal issues should be handled privately and respectfully for all involved. If a young adult does not want to reveal private things about herself than her adult father should respect that. If a parent has an issue with their child than they should address their child, not a journalist or tv show. My kids love the Hannah Montana shows and movie and i hope that this famous family can work out their differences, privately.

I couldn’t agree more. This is a private matter and people are getting mad at Miley for wanting to keep it private. I dont understand why they dont understand why shes upset.
He should have gone to her in private & said the things he did in the interview. What he did just made her not want to involve him in anything. I have been in a similar situating and it makes people very trustworthy.

Did you ever think that maybe he tried to talk to her privately but he couldn’t get her attention? Well he has it now. I’m not saying what he’s doing is completely right but maybe this was his last option.

Look, if you can’t accept who you are and not be afraid of the past, hbow can you go on living a good future? She needs not to hide who she is but let it out there, good and bad. We have all made our mistakes. But rather than her confessing to them, she would rather hide them and pretend they never happened. As with Miss Lohan, we see that does not work. You can’t run from who you are and what your past is, so just let him tell the story and get it over with. Life will move on hun ;-)
