Lindsay Lohan is going back to court tomorrow and if she doesn’t work out a plea bargain soon, she may be headed to jail says lawyer Susan Filan
Lindsay Lohan returns to court tomorrow afternoon, Feb. 23, to face charges for her felony grand theft of a $2500 necklace and her subsequent probation violation for said theft. After the judge’s strict warning during her last court date, everyone is curious whether Lindsay’s next appearance will end in jail, is this likely?
Connecticut-based lawyer Susan Filan doesn’t seem to think so. “Tomorrow, I think Judge Keith Schwartz will give Shawn Chapman Holley and the prosecutor a chance to make a plea deal on behalf of Lindsay,” explains Filan. “But he’s going to most likely give Lindsay and the lawyers a stern warning that if they don’t settle the case soon, he will set a hearing. And Lindsay does not want a hearing for her violation of probation because it will result in jail time.”
This doesn’t mean that if Lindsay makes a plea deal, she’s free from jail time forever. “The case might go from felony grand theft to a misdemeanor theft charge to which I expect she will plead guilty. If she admits violation of probation she will have to be sentenced for that charge and she could got something from a day to six months in jail,” reveals Filan.
So in summary, the actress is still facing jail time no matter what, but it is to her benefit if she strikes a plea combining both of her alleged charges.
After all is said and done Lindsay could always get out of jail quickly but if she doesn’t act fast the situation will be in the judge’s control and not dependent on her lawyer working with the D.A.
