If you think your pregnancy was tough HollyMoms — imagine spending your third and final trimester fighting the Taliban on the frontline thousands of miles from home!
That’s the staggering true story of British Army private Kayla Donnelly – who didn’t know she was expecting a baby until she went into labor, just 2 weeks after she left Afghanistan!
Kayla, 21, conceived shortly before she was sent to the wartorn Helmand Province in March 2010.
When she began to gain weight, Kayla blamed the stresses of war and never considered she might be pregnant.
And her bosses didn’t notice either — expectant moms are banned from fighting on the front line, and Army chiefs are said to be stunned by the revelation that a pregnant woman saw combat action.
Kayla was sent home on leave in September and jetted off to the Spanish isle of Tenerife on vacation – only to collapse by her hotel pool when her contractions started!
She gave birth to a healthy baby boy called Josh. Baby Josh’s dad is Private Aaron McMillan, who served with Kayla.
Private Kayla has confirmed to British newspaper The Sun that she’s a mom but has refused to discuss her astonishing story.
What do you think HollyMoms? Could you go to war while pregnant?
