Billy Ray Cyrus Blames 'Hannah Montana' For Destroying Miley -- 'I'm Scared For Her' -- She's In 'Danger!'

Billy admits the he wishes ‘Hannah’ never happened and that it is to blame for his daughter’s problems!

It looks like it is not just concerned fans who are scared for Miley Cyrus given her recent behavior as now her father Billy is voicing his fears about Miley’s future – and saying he wishes her hit show Hannah Montana never happened! Billy told the March issue of GQ, “I’m scared for her. She’s got a lot of people around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm.” Yikes!

Billy went on to say he wishes Miley’s hit show Hannah Montana never was. “I hate to say it, but yes, I do. I’d take it back in a second.” He further states, “the damn show destroyed my family.”

As for Miley’s controversial 18th birthday at LA hot spot Trousdale Billy explained, “You know why I didn’t go? Because they were having it in a bar. It was wrong. It was for 21 years old and up . . . all them people, they all wanted me to fly out so that then when all the bad press came they could say, ‘Daddy endorsed this stuff.’ I started realizing I’m being used.”

Billy also takes time to clear up the frequent misconception that he profited from his daughter’s success. “I’m proud to say to this day I’ve never made one commissioned dollar, or dime, off of my daughter,” he states.

No Offense Billy Ray Cyrus and everyone else that blames the hit tv show Hannah Montana for destroying his family has no right to blame it. Instead of looking at the show as the cause people need to look at the people behind the tv show, i.e. The Parents. Miley’s Mother should have seen her daughter going the way she was and have her pulled out of the limelight and focused on Miley. She should be a MOTHER first instead of a momager. Miley’s Father should have spoke up sooner about his concerns for Miley instead of waiting til now to say something when everything started hitting the news because of paparazis and the media.

Better late than never. Even though Billy Ray said the show ruined his family, I don’t think he’s just blaming Disney- he is saying that the show ruined his family because he LET it happen and continue and he knows he shouldn’t have and regrets ever starting it. He does care about his daughter and realized he should have not “okayed” her bad behaviors, even to protect her career. If you notice, when Miley was with Billy Ray at the first of her career, she looked and acted (for the most part) her age. When she was with her mother Tish, she dressed provocatively- even her little sister Noah is photographed with her mother with dyed hair, makeup, and a bra showing.

Also, there have been reports for a while now of Miley acting out and pushing the limits. Let’s just say that Billy Ray had said two years ago when she was sixteen “Okay, that’s enough- we’re not signing another contract, and we’re going back home to Tennessee to give you a normal life and some perspective!” Do you think for an instant it would have happened? No way! Tish wouldn’t give up her “momager” position and her chance to be in the spotlight with her daughter. She obviously has no boundaries and doesn’t set any for her children. Billy Ray said he knew last year that his family was a mess but if he had said “let’s go home” then, Tish wouldn’t have left California and the limelight, Miley wouldn’t have left, they would- and have- given up the family for fame. Billy Ray did too, but he realized it, but too late to do anything about it. If he had tried to go home earlier, he and Tish would have divorced earlier and Miley was old enough to choose to stay with her permissive “momager”. Then he wouldn’t have been able to at least be in the home to monitor and try to prevent what he could. Just like he said, he didn’t realize the ball was out bounds til it was in the stands, or like the old saying goes it’s like closing the barn door after the horse is out. He stayed until she was almost 18 to try and influence what he could but then saw the writing on the wall before she was 18 and knew it was useless. If he is smart, he will take his other two minor children, Noah and Braison, and keep them as much as he can, try to instill values in them that their mother doesn’t have and doesn’t care about and be there for Miley when she realizes that being tabloid fodder is not a good reason to be famous, that allowing her to do whatever she wants is not in her best interest, and comes home for family.

I feel bad for Billy, but blaming a TV show for his daughters choices is bull. She is old enough to know what is right and what isn’t.

Tell me How is she the next Brit or LL? I know for a fact that at least one of those girls was being dragged out of bars at a younger age than Miley is now and I have yet to see her have that done.

Other people who have had close contact with Brit & Miley say that Miley is much stronger at 18 than Brit was so give it up & let the girl live her life and sure theres going to be mistakes but to ERR is human, Miley’s not perfect & never has claimed to be

yeah, of course miley is going f***ing nuts, she totally ruined herself because of that stupid show hannah montana. its sad. and i hope she doesent get worse, in which shes probably done almost everything so its probably impossible.

She 18, trying to find herself everyone hits bumps in the road of life, including celebs but shes not doing heroin or coke and she regrets what happened in NOV. There are 18 year olds out there doing a whole lot worse than Miley right now.

Does everyone realize that he did this interview 5 days after the whole salvia thing came out? He was angry for being left out of the situation but what does he expect when he abruptly leaves his 3 minor children for months & isn’t really involved “to live by himself in Tennessee” instead of being involved in their daily lives? He doesn’t seem to take in mind that Miley was hurting after he left the family like that.

It seems like things have gotten better since this interview was done in NOVEMBER, Billy was even seen on Miley’s movie set in Louisiana last month. Miley admits she made a mistake but for a father to compare their daughter to Kurt Cobain or Anna Nicole Smith is ridiculous! Shes not stumbling out of bars every night or snorting coke off a table in a club.

I understand that he is a concerned Father but to do an interview instead of actually going out there & trying to talk to her or get involve is NOT a good Father. Certain things should be kept in the family, its not just Miley there are other siblings that have to read this about their Sister & Father.

thank you for clarifying the timing. i was shocked to hear he was saying this stuff b/c i think despite a few missteps that his daughter is nowhere near the celebrities that he mentions, and hopefully never will be. however, that he said these things in the heat of the moment when he felt he was losing control of his life and family b/c of marriage issues and such, sheds a little bit of light on it. that said, it still did make me worry a bit about miley… i hope she keeps herself together b/c she’s been in much too big a hurry to grow up. mostly, despite bad fashion choices, and despite being in the lime light at such a young age, i think she comes across as being pretty well adjusted. i’m not necessarily her fan, but i do wish her the best.

Rock and a hard place. Yes, he and his wife pursued a career for Miley, most likely without foresight of what the Disney machine was capable of as far as control. People can be trite in saying he had the power…but in reality I am sure Disney did in iron clad contracts. Too many Disney stars seems to be going off the radar as of late. Perhaps there is too much pressure…too much money and too many handlers in these kids careers. I applaud Billy for speaking his mind now. It is better than the one’s who remain quiet and allow the money machine to keep producing. Perhaps his speaking out will affect her persona enough to make her slow down and remember who she is. She will not BECOME another Britney, or Lindsey…but it may be future stars that are to become another Miley in every derogatory sense possible. Best to watch the blame game, in the end Miley makes who Miley is, especially since she is now an adult. Her future is now all on her. Hope she has saved her money!
