Is It Time To Cut Your Hair? The Bob Is Back At Tommy Hilfiger And On Janet Jackson!

The hot new cut was spotted yesterday on the NYC Fashion Week runways at Tommy Hilfiger’s show. Then Janet Jackson turned up today with a similar, shorter look!

Tommy Hilfiger is known for featuring polished, preppy models with stick-straight, long hair on his runways. But backstage at Tommy’s show on February 13th, gone were the long, sleek ponytails from seasons past—and a newer, messier bob was unveiled. Then Janet Jackson was spotted today with a choppy bob, too! This new look is understated, organic and, most importantly, according to Tommy Hilfiger’s hairstylist it’s beyond easy to create!

Lead hairstylist Eugene Souleiman said Tommy needed something cooler going on this season so instead of focusing on getting things perfect, the stylists focused it on the opposite. The process wasn’t just simple. It was a no-brainer! All Eugene did was blow out the hair and then play with it. Literally. He tossed it around, scrunched it, rubbed it. He wanted it to look unkempt. They only trick was he sprayed in some Wella System Professional Ocean Spritz product which is silicone based so it isn’t shiny. It may be unrecognizable as a look for a Tommy show, but that’s what was so cool about it! It’s not commercial or perfectly pretty—it’s real!
