The singer expreses her interest in the coveted part

Thanks to Sex and the City, Carrie Bradshaw is a household name and a beloved character to whom many women all over the world relate. So it’s no surprise that many young actresses are scrambling for the part of young Carrie in a movie adaptation of The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell. Do you see Miley Cyrus as the starring role?

“I would love it,” Miley told Access. “I’m not attached, so I don’t want to say that, but that would be very cool.”

Blake Lively was rumored to be starring as Carrie but her rep denied these reports.

Blake seemed to make sense, especially after playing the stylish Serena Van Der Woodsen in the Manhattan-centric Gossip Girl, but we’re not sure if Miley Cyrus is the first person we would have chosen for the part. What do you guys think? Do you want to see her running around as Carrie pre-Manolos?
