Follow Brit’s lead and get your kids into karate — it’ll boost their self-esteem and keep them fit!
Yesterday (Feb. 10) Britney Spears was spotted taking her son, Jayden James Federline, to a karate class in Encino, Calif. And Dr. Gilda Carle tells HollyBaby.com that Britney, 29, deserves a lot of praise for encouraging her 4-year-old to study martial arts because it’s got a ton of mental and physical benefits. Way to go, Britney!
“Enrolling your kids in karate class and other physical activities is essential,” says psychotherapist Dr. Carle, who is a firm believer in body and mind expansion. “When the body works out, the circulatory system pumps more effectively and the mind is clearer.”
Also, Britney loves to treat Jayden and his big brother Sean, 5, to fast food meals so karate is a great way to keep the pounds off. “With all the childhood obesity, educating your children about taking care of their physical endowments will also encourage healthful eating practices,” explains Dr. Carle. That makes sense.
Practicing martial arts will also boost little Jayden’s self-esteem. “When we feel good, we look good. When we believe we look good, we feel more in control of our lives, and our ability to handle adversities of all kinds.” says Dr. Carle. “ Yay for Britney for her healthy parenting!”
