We watched, and we decided: These are the five best ads we saw last night during the Super Bowl.
Super Bowl night was such a great night for TV, as usual — except some super annoying football game kept interrupting the best parts! There was a beaver and a Bieber, a lot of dumb dudes eating Doritos, ancient Aztecs driving Korean cars, and, oh yes, Kim Kardashian’s abs.
But there were a few spots that actually stood out amongst the incredible amount of ad noise, at least in our eyes. Herewith, our Five Best from Super Bowl Sunday.
Lil’ Vader — who got unmasked just this morning as 4-year-old actor Max Page — was an evil empire of cuteness in VW’s “The Force.”
For sheer emotional pull, nothing beat Eminem pimping for his hometown of Detroit. Cue the choir — and the waterworks.
A bit elaborate, even by Super Bowl standards, but Kenny G as a prison warden for Audi was genius. (Check the golden handcuffs.)
Sheer cuteness — the animal spot of the night was Bridgestone’s spot involving a beaver and something they’re calling “Carma.”
Any ad that brings Alf, the Fonz, and the cast of the original 90210 together is fine by us.
