The legal woes keep on coming for Lindsay — and she will likely head to jail because of her latest troubles!
Lindsay Lohan, 24, will be facing felony grand theft charges as early as Feb. 7, TMZ is reporting. And legal experts claim she is headed directly to jail if the L.A. County District Attorney files the case!
“She is automatically in violation of her probation if she gets arrested,” says Susan F. Filan, an attorney who spoke exclusively with HollywoodLife.com. “She would face up to six months in state prison or county jail.”
The incident in question is the alleged theft of a $2,500 necklace from Kamofie & Company, a Venice, Calif. jewelry store. The jewelry went missing on the same day Lindsay was in the store looking at it, and the allegation is she took it herself. Lindsay’s camp is saying her stylist worked out a plan for the jewelry to be borrowed and the terms of the loan were unclear on both ends. The necklace has since been returned, but a surveillance tape the jewelry store has allegedly passed over to police and could be a deciding factor.
Lindsey must now defend herself on two fronts: the violation of probation and these new felony charges. This process would involve admitting to the courts she was arrested for a new allegation but asking them to hold off on the probation violation because she might be found not guilty of the new felony charges. But Susan says it will be a hard case for Lindsay to fight.
“If I was her judge, I wouldn’t buy it,” Susan says.
If convicted on these felony grand theft charges, she could face up to three years in prison.
How does Lindsay keep getting into these situations?
