Want to smell like your favorite Friend? Well, those of you in the US can, starting today!
Jennifer Aniston might be one of the most widely-copied women in the world: people want her hair, her rock-hard body and her fabulous lifestyle. Well, now you can SMELL like the star because her signature perfume launches TODAY in the US! Read on for news about the scent and an update on that comment about her hating the “Rachel” cut!
WWD reports this morning that Aniston evidently really got into the process of creating the signature scent. She says, “I’ve always loved to combine different scents to come up with my own unique thing. The fragrance, created with the Fallic Group and in conjunction with International Flavors & Fragrances, is what Aniston calls “a personal library of scent memories” inspired by her childhood in Southern California. The scent opens with notes of citrus grove and rose water; ebbs to a middle/heart of blooming jasmine, wild violets and amazon lily; and dries to a base of sensual musk, golden amber and sandalwood.
The fragrance is available exclusively through Sephora stores and online for a three-month run. The star, who was accused of not doing enough to promote the scent in Europe to its reported financial disappointment, will be doing in-store appearances in March.
The scent will be sold in three sizes here in the US: 1 oz. for $39, 1.7 oz. for $55 and 2.9 oz. for $70.
As for her comment about the iconic “Rachel” haircut that she claimed to have hated in the February issue of Allure magazine? She claims that’s not exactly what she meant, that she was upset that the style, created with her long-time hairstylist Chris McMillan, had a life of its own. “It was all anyone ever wanted to know about, all Chris ever got asked to do. I liked it at the time, but I started to grow it out after about eight months. But it just wouldn’t die.”
She says she’d be interested in doing a men’s fragrance and a night scent, but when it comes to her position as a style icon, she says, “I love clothes, but I don’t know what to put on myself, let alone others. I have a lot of help getting dressed.”
