New Details: 'Teen Mom' Leah Messer's Baby, Ali Is Legally Blind And Might Never Walk!

Wed, January 26, 2011 3:04pm EDT by 18 Comments

This is every mother’s nightmare—there’s something seriously wrong with Leah’s baby.

As fans of Teen Mom have seen, one of Leah Messer‘s twin daughters, Ali, just isn’t developing properly as she grows. “She doesn’t bear any weight on her legs at all and her hands don’t close,” Leah told the doctor on the Jan 18th episode. Now, according to a new report in OK! magazine, the adorable toddler’s doctors are saying she might never walk on her own! But why? According to a source close to Leah, for much of her pregnancy Ali’s twin sister, Alleeah, was lying on top of her, impeding her development. “Leah is terrified that she will never walk properly,” says the source.

While her sister, Aleeah has been developing normally, the insider confirms that Ali has been seeing a physical therapist several times a week: “Ali will have to be fitted with leg braces for an unknown amount of time, and they can’t predict how much it will help.”  And that’s not the only bad news. “Ali’s legally blind without her thick glasses,” adds a close friend of Leah’s.

Even though baby Ali is having all kinds of health troubles, she remains a happy, cheerful infant. “She’s a happy, curious, precious little baby who loves playing with her sister and being doted on by her daddy,” says the family friend. “Ali is a fighter.”

Ali can’t walk, but i don’t think she is fully blind. Her eyes cross so she needs thick glasses.I had heard rumors that she was diagnoised with a Genetic disorder and rumors of Dwarfism. They can’t talk about until the show airs per MTV rules.

THANKS FOR THE ARTICLE BUT I WISH SOMEBODY WOULD SAY WHAT IS EXACTLY WRONG WITH THE BABY. IM NO DOCTOR BUT IT LOOKS LIKE HER LIMBS ARE TOO SHORT AND THAT SHE MIGHT GROW UP TO BE BELOW NORMAL HIGHT.

Um, where were there three names for the other twin…. I see one… One is spelled wrong, but it looks like a typo.

I think baby allie has some nerve damage from being breech. It would explain why she doesn’t put weight on her feet, she can’t feel them. It would also explain why her feet are turned inwards. Babies are born with their feet turned inward because of their position in utero, but after they are born they are able to bear weight on their legs and have a reflex that allows them to bear weight on their feet and that is what straightens out their legs in preparation for walking. But this is just my guess
