Her busy life revolves around the adorable 5-year-old, Matilda: “Raising my daughter is my absolute priority.”
Michelle Williams just nabbed an Oscar nomination for her intense role in Blue Valentine, but the actress says it’s all for her daughter, Matilda, with the late Heath Ledger. “Even when I’m working I still think about her and can’t wait to get back to her at the end of the day,” Michelle tells Ok! magazine about her 5-year-old daughter. “I hope one day she will see my movies and be proud of me.” We know she will, Michelle!
“Raising my daughter is my absolute priority, everything I do is to make Matilda’s world as happy and secure as possible,” she adds. After losing their beloved Heath, the two girls have coped with a lot over the past few years. “You experience this terrible sense of loss and it was very hard to find some meaning to all of it,” Michelle says. “It was very hard for me to think about work anymore because I found myself cut off from the outside world.”
But, after being cast in a role that has now earned her the Oscar nomination, Michelle is feeling like herself again. “Making Blue Valentine restored my desire and enjoyment in acting again,” she says. “It helped me feel good again in a way that I hadn’t felt like in several years. It rekindled my spirit in many ways.” Well we’re certain that Matilda will grow up being proud of both of her parents.
