Jesse James why would you use the same designer twice?
Jesse James and Kat Von D shocked everyone today with their big engagement news, although Sandra Bullock didn’t have anything to say when taking baby Louis out around NYC. And now, to add insult to injury, we’ve discovered that Kat’s engagement ring was made by the same jewelry designer who made Sandra’s wedding rings!
People magazine reports that Kat’s ring is a four-carat-plus platinum and diamond ring from Neil Lane‘s archival collection. Neil says, “It’s a beautiful ring set with a central round diamond in the middle with smaller surrounding diamonds for an overall dome shape. It has a delicate filigree pattern with very pretty scroll-work.”
Neil also designed Sandra’s wedding rings. Her engagement ring was a 1910 Tiffany and Co. piece from his private collection. The setting of the two intertwining diamonds symbolized “two people in union” according to the designer, who also made Sandra’s vintage diamond wedding band. Sandra wore her engagement ring on her index finger so people wouldn’t be tipped off, and her wedding was a “secret and intimate” affair. The whole thing was a surprise, which is a marked difference from Jesse and Kat’s PDA-filled relationship and very public announcement today.
Despite the differences in the brides, Jesse seems to be repeating his behavior. Two days after his wedding to Sandra he took her to N9NE in Las Vegas, and this is the place he was first spotted cuddling up to Kat Von D in August. Same rings, same restaurants, same philandering?
I’ve made it pretty clear how I feel about Jesse’s engagement, but what do you guys think of this latest development? Is it weird that Jesse would use the same designer for both women? Sound off below!
