Happy Birthday, Regina King! You're 40 Today, January 15!

This year is sure to be successful for Regina, who is starring in TNT’s hit series Southland!

You might recognize her from movies like Jerry Maguire and Ray, but Regina King is most well known for playing Brenda Jenkins on the popular 1980′s show 227! Now she’s all grown up and starring in TNT‘s crime drama, Southland alongside The O.C. hottie Benjamin McKenzie! This busy mommy has a son Ian Alexander Jr., 15, and is currently dating actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner.

“Malcolm and I have a lot in common… we’ve both been child actors and were also blessed to be raised by incredible mothers who instilled good values in us,” Regina tells Essence magazine this month. “Things are maturing nicely.” Hmm, maybe she’ll get a little birthday bling in the form of an engagement ring.
