An insider reveals to us that feverish negotiations with the ‘wives’, are underway and it appears deals will be struck. Here’s the details!

All of you worried Desperate Housewives fans can breathe a sigh of relief! We’ve talked to an insider who works on the set of the popular TV show who tells us “Everyone is very confident that deals will be made and the show will continue.” Phew. We’ll still be able to tune in to what the troublesome ladies of Wisteria Lane are doing.

We were initially concerned when Michael Ausiello‘s TVLine.com revealed the news ABC hadn’t picked up Desperate for an eighth season yet, since the leading ladies’ contracts were up for renewal. But our source assures us negotiations are going well.

“Everyone is in great spirits,” explains our insider. “They have had to deal with Eva Longoria‘s divorce, Nicollette Sheridan‘s lawsuit and other random moments that would derail other shows, but everyone still loves going into work and they actually think the best is yet to come!”

But are Eva, Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross aware this will probably be their last contract negotiation since Marc Cherry has only signed on for ten seasons?

“Yes, that is why things are taking a little longer. People want it to be a substantial payday, and would like to be fair to everyone involved. But the vibe for now is positive and there hasn’t been any fighting yet.”

Hopefully everything continues to be smooth sailing for the beautiful actresses and we can continue to enjoy their suburbian drama for a few years!

Is there any chance that the ladies will sign for 2 or 3 more years or only for one?
