Seth Rogen just announced that he’s getting married without a pre-nup! He joins a long list of stars refusing to let lawyers get involved with their love-lives—are they hopeless romantics? Or just plain stupid?

Seth Rogen told Howard Stern this week that he’s NOT going to use a pre-nup when he marries his fiancee, writer/actress Lauren Miller. “Marriage can be expensive and if I lose millions then it will be the best millions I’ve spent,” said The Green Hornet star. Wow, this guy is sooo in love! But so many celebs have been burned by this trend lately (hello? Kelsey Grammer?)—so is Seth doing the right thing?

“At the rate Hollywood marriages are crumbling these days, any celebrity who marries without a pre-nup is a colossal fool,” says Stacy Schneider, attorney and author of He Had it Coming: How to Outsmart Your Husband and Win Your Divorce. “Celebrities are getting bad advice from their lawyers these days if they tie the knot without some kind of protection.”

Sean Penn revealed this week to The Hollywood Reporter that he “just got taken for one half of everything I had in the divorce” because he and Robin Wright Penn had no pre-nup. And the world was shocked last week by the news that Kelsey Grammer will have to pay Camille Grammer $50 million in their divorce because they had no agreement. Elizabeth Hurley also didn’t have a pre-nup in place when she married Indian businessman Arun Nayar, and now they’re set to divorce within the next few months. And in one of the most famous examples in recent Hollywood history, Madonna was forced to make a massive payout of $92 million to Guy Ritchie to settle their divorce. “It’s one of the largest payouts ever in a divorce settlement,” Madonna’s spokeswoman said at the time. Why so much? You guessed it: NO PRE-NUP!

When Howard Stern told Seth that he should reconsider his no-prenup decision, citing Kelsey Grammer as an example, Seth said, “My business manager told me to get one, too.”

Rogen also sweetly admitted to Howard Stern that the engagement ring he gave his fiancee “is the most expensive thing I’ve ever held before.” Aww! So cute!
