Lea’s taking a serious stand! Will YOU join her in the fight against unfair treatment of horses?

Walking by Central Park isn’t easy for animal lovers who can’t bare to look at the carriage horses waiting to be forced to walk the concrete streets of NYC. Now Peta, along with NYC native Lea Michele, is speaking out against the unfair treatment of horses forced to pull carriages. In a new campaign, the Glee star urges: “Don’t take a ride. Please boycott horse-drawn carriages!”

“Imagine for a moment that you’re forced to do hard physical labor all day, seven days a week, whether it’s sweltering hot or freezing cold outside,” Lea, 24, says. “That’s what it’s like for horses who are forced to pull carriages in NYC. … After a long day of hauling heavy tourists and being forced to breathe exhaust fumes, these horses must walk through miles of dangerous traffic and climb up steep ramps to reach the upper levels of the multi-story Midtown stables where they’re kept when not working.”

I personally like Lea Michele, but I think she should have researched a little more before taking on this case. I live in Colorado, in a town where everyone owns a horse. Horses are built to work all day and do hard labor, and they actually get more sick by just sitting around. Horses are tough animals, and labor is what they are designed for!

Celebrities should really stay out of real issues. PETA is a horrible organization, with the most radical literally turning horses, cattle, and other animals lose from their yards to roam in the wild. These animals are domesticated, and have no idea how to fend for themselves in the wild. Get a clue, do some research. Spend some actual time with the animals you are trying to “protect” to realize that the lives they live are pretty good. And believe it or not, some horses actually *like* their jobs, no joke.

i agree with her, last time that i went to new york i saw how those animals were not taken care, and they went in the midle of the traffic in the end of the day, really dangerous.
